Management and Co-Founders
Ben Jacobson,
President
Dr. Jacobson invented Illumitech’s projection illumination
technology and leads optical design and marketing. He is the author of numerous
publications and patents in non-imaging optics, including ground-breaking work in LCD
backlighting as Chief Scientist at NiOptics Corporation.
Robert Gengelbach, VP and
Director of Engineering
- Mr. Gengelbach develops and qualifies all Illumitech’s designs and
components. He has over 35 years experience developing and certifying performance of
opto-mechanical and imaging products, first as a Lab Director in Eastman Kodak’s
Office Imaging Division and then at NiOptics.
Roland Winston, Co-Founder
- Dr. Winston is Professor of Physics at the University of Chicago. He is the
fundamental inventor of non-imaging optics and author of its standard textbook, High-Collection
Non-Imaging Optics. Dr. Winston’s work in non-imaging optics has produced more
than 20 patents, an IR-100 award, the Kraus Medal, and numerous other awards and honorary
fellowships. More
