Illumitech's consulting services complement your in-house team with our experience in illumination and light-collection, combined with unique design capabilities in non-imaging optics. We've integrated a range of laboratory and software tools to save you time and money at all phases of the product development process. Capabilities

Many of our clients have their own ray-trace programs and optical designers in-house. They come to us because they've found that our specialized expertise and tools are needed to accurately predict the efficiency and uniformity of their illumination or light-collection systems. Our systematic approach saves multiple trial-and-error prototypes and provides a clear path to refine and optimize performance.

	Source Characterization Our 12-bit photometric camera, calibrated video microscope, spectroradiometer, and range of integrating spheres can precisely characterize multiple aspects of any light-source.
	Design Our proprietary, modular design code is used to rapidly create cutting-edge non-imaging designs. Each design is then simulated and further optimized by custom software coupled to standard non-sequential ray-trace packages (ASAP®, Opticad®, or Oslo®).
	Prototyping We draw on a network of suppliers with experience in non-imaging optical fabrication. Reflective and refractive prototypes can be fabricated in a variety of standard materials. Complex aspheric, aconic, and even non-rotational shapes can be provided, with turn-around times significantly shorter than standard high-precision optical components.
	Performance Validation In-house, dedicated instruments can measure the contours and reflectivity of complex curved surfaces. Design, measurement, and modeling are integrated to place each solution on a sound engineering basis to ensure reliable, cost-effective product performance.
	Intellectual Property We can serve as the technical interface with your patent attorney, saving your staff from this distracting, burdensome, and time-consuming task. We combine our specialized technical expertise with awareness of the existing patent base, to provide you with patent search and analysis capabilities that can save you considerable time and money.
